Wild Things (DVD Unrated Edition)

If you are one of those eagerly awaiting the release of Wild Things Unrated, I can think of only one reason why. And that reason is"¦extra nudie scenes in the pool! Yes boys, you've got to see it to believe it! Now there are more than just two scenes to skip to for you trigger happy lads out there. It only takes a few minutes of "not suited for theatres" footage to push me over the edge.

In the heat of the Florida community of Blue Bay, guidance counselor Sam Lombardo (Matt Dillon) has a knack for getting close to his students. When two of the high school hotties, Suzie (Neve Campbell) and Kelly (Denise Richards), accuse Lombardo of rape, things get a little more sticky in the swamp. Sergeant Ray Duquette (Kevin Bacon) leads the investigation as slippery attorney Kenneth Bowden (Bill Murray) watches Lombardo's back. However, nothing is as it seems. Blue Bay is filled with lies, deceit, greed, and debauchery"¦only the wicked will survive.

When Wild Things came out in 1998, it was one of the most original and stylish mystery movies of the time. As intriguing and entertaining as it was, there was no doubt that the movie stuck in people's mind because of the infamous "motel scene". When Denise Richards, Neve Campbell, and Matt Dillon turned that room into a wet lovemaking romp, Wild Things was ushered into pop culture immortality. With the re-release on DVD there is even more reason to own it as your own guilty pleasure.

The Unrated Edition implies there will be even more naughtiness afoot. There are seven extra minutes of footage, and for the gravely concerned, the pool scene where Richards and Campbell get into a catfight and make with sweet love is extended"¦and much steamier. Don't turn the movie off when the credits start rolling, you'll miss the little vignettes that reveal the how and why of certain plot twists. One of these juicy little nuggets is an extra Dillon/Richards piece that is sure to grab your attention.

Although there is less in the way of real special features, the extra scenes are a must-see if you are a Wild Things enthusiast. Besides, this movie is an indulgence, so go ahead and treat it that way.
