Late Night With Conan O’Brien 10th Anniversary Special
Ten years of late night comedy and one big special to sum it all up; in 2009 when Jay Leno gives up his throne to Conan O'Brien, it might not be him after all. There have been talks about Jimmy Fallon taking over this spot but it's all hypothetical. For now, Conan is the man in line.
As for the future, it's hard to tell. For now we know what's been done in at least ten years. Once a writer for SNL, the scrawny Irishmen with famous blonde hair has been the source of spontaneous humor after midnight with his awkward delivery he brings his own unique state of mind. He's not afraid to not be funny; he's an honest guy who we seem to trust at 12:30 a.m.
The special was an hour of the best stuff over the past ten years, with special appearances from Jack Black, Andy Richter, Will Ferrell and probably more celebrities I can't seem to think of.
It's nice to go back in time and see why we like him so much; and ponder if he can do it for another ten years. It's a well deserved honor, anyone who can do that five days a week and still be going strong is special in my heart.
Triumph the Insult Comic Dog comes in to say hi as we go through a montage of him grinding on poodles, putting down nerds, and pooping on anyone he can. There are plenty of surprises that are nice to go back and re-live as Conan hosts the grand show of his career.
The DVD extras are great with phony commercials and more special guests the archives brought up. It's a nice DVD for any fan of his and it's all put together very well. Conan O'Brien, I salute you.
