Saving Private Ryan hit store shelves on Blu-ray recently, and if you bought one, you might have noticed a problem. All of the discs released had an audio-sync issue that caused explosions and bullet shells to be heard before they actually hit on-screen. This problem affected the Sapphire Series versions only.
At least you now know it wasn't your Blu-ray player, it was the disc. The entire first batch of Blu-rays are being recalled. According to Paramount Studios, the corrected discs will be available on May 18th, and will have a yellow UPC sticker on the back to signify each as a corrected disc.
To get a corrected copy, you can return it to your store of purchase, or call this toll-free number. U.S. and Canada, call 888-370-8621. U.K., call 08000-852-613
